A bit about me
When I’m interested in a new app or computer program I typically
- Perform at least 3 searches for different terms related to what I want to do.
- I start gathering the top organic results, maybe one or two advertised results, and a few “top ___” lists.
- Once I start to narrow down on a specific program, I’ll do a few “app_name vs” searches to see if I somehow missed a main competitor.
- Then I’ll start testing out the top few options, and likely create a spreadsheet to better keep track of the results.
I do all of this not because I’m planning to later on write a “best of” list, but simply because if I’m going to be using a program, I’d like to not find out later on that I choose poorly. I’d like to make the right choice before investing time using a program.
